Windows
(Note: Do not connect the USB cable until prompted.)

Close any software programs running on your computer.
Turn on the printer.
Click on the 'Download' button on this page.
Click 'Run'. The file will be downloaded to a temporary folder on your PC.
Click 'Run' again. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically start.
Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with and complete the installation.
To install at a later date, select 'Save' on step 4 and select a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, locate and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation.

Mac OS X
Flash Firmware Update Notes:The HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series Firmware Update Utility for Macintosh OS 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, & 10.9 can use either a Network or USB connection to the printer.

The HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series printer must be on & in a READY state as shown by the LCD display on the control panel & remain powered on during the entire firmware update process.
Depending on the processor speed of your Mac, the firmware update process may complete on the printer before the update status progress kafe in the flash firmware update utility on the Mac screen completes, this is normal.
Once the update process has started, do not use your Mac for any other activity until the process is complete.
Inform others connected to the product, both network & USB, to refrain from using the printer during the update period.
Do Not power cycle the product or the Mac until the firmware update process is complete.

Process:

Download the firmware update utility to your system.
Double click on the downloaded file & run the HP Firmware Updater.
Click Agree in the License Agreement pane.
You will be asked for your direktur password to install software components.
The software will look for the devices that require the update.
If the device is found it will be listed in the Device Firmware Update screen. If the device is not listed disconnect & reconnect the USB or network cable from the device to your computer & click Recheck.
Select the device & click Update. Note: The update should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Please be patient.
8. Wait while the HP Firmware Updater downloads the new firmware. The device will automatically turn off & then on. When completed it will display "READY".

Warning: Do not power cycle the device during this process.

On the HP Firmware Updater, wait until "Your device firmware has been successfully updated" message appears.
Click the Quit button. The firmware update is now finished.
If it is desired to verify the update, a configuration page can be printed from the printer. To print a configuration page please go to Reports -> Configuration Report on control panel.

The configuration page will display the current firmware revision in the Product informat
ion block.
